Beginners welcome! Discover the power of relaxation-in-action and mindfulness-in-action through the “moving meditation” and ancient martial art of Tai Chi.

Tai Chi is a Taoist martial art, health exercise, and philosophy. Master Wonchull Park, who is also a physicist, guides us to appreciate a simple rational understanding of optimal action. By learning how to get out of one’s own way and discovering better info for better action, we can handle challenges more effectively—and with less stress—in daily life, as well as achieve higher performance in our athletic, academic, and artistic endeavors.

Master Wonchull Park is a Princeton physicist and Tai Chi master who teaches Chen, Yang, and Wu-style Tai Chi. His Chen Tai Chi teacher is Master Chen Peishan, the 12th generation successor of Chen-style Tai Chi and Chairman of the International Society of Chen Taijiquan (ISCT). Master Park serves on the ISCT board of directors and is founder of the Wuwei Tai Chi School. He has authored books demonstrating the practical connection between physics and Eastern philosophy, including Way of Now and Nowflow Breath, Movement & Mind.

Mackenzie Hawkins ’15 is an instructor of the Wuwei Tai Chi School who has co-authored books with Master Park on how scientific understanding and ancient wisdom naturally connect in practical ways. Mackenzie’s teaching is rooted in the recognition that everyone already possesses the inner resources they need — these practices simply help us remember how to access them.

Yevgen Kashchenko is an instructor of the Wuwei Tai Chi School who is passionate about sharing the benefits of Tai Chi.
